Dried figs are tasty in a salad. Aside from being a delicious dried fruit, it is also rich in fiber, and are great for the digestive system. Just imagine, the first time I tried this fruit was on the famous Fig Newton cookies.

Now, I look for them and I buy them often to eat in salads, as an appetizer with cheese and slices of prosciutto or serrano ham, and I buy Fig Butters (looks like jelly) to make these delicious snacks sweet coconut balls.
Another way I love to eat this fruit is right after running or exercising. The natural sweetness of this fruit with a glass of water is ideal to get quick energy after a workout.

Fresh figs are just as delicious, but I can’t find them all year. Dried figs are found year-round and I keep them in the fridge to make them last.
