Oatmeal with papaya cut into cubes with shredded coconut and a pinch of cinnamon. Delicious. The oatmeal and papaya will melt in your mouth and the taste is as if you were eating an oatmeal cookie. Start the day with a powerful breakfast that gives you energy with fruits and oatmeal. Oatmeal is a whole grain that will fill you up and it is much better than a piece of sweetbread or donut. Add some flavor with shredded coconut (unsweetened) and ground cinnamon. Wait for the papaya to be ripe and soft, then cut it and remove the seeds. There are some people who use the seeds to add in juices or eat it whole.
This oatmeal is gluten free. It is easy to find gluten free products in the United States. The papaya is organic and I prefer the taste of this papaya, it had more flavor than the other regular papayas I have eaten. Its flavor reminded me of the papayas from Panamá.
The portion of oats is 1 cup cooked with water. If you like to add some creaminess add a tablespoon of nonfat Greek yogurt. Papaya helps with digestion and has several vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, beta-carotene, potassium and others. Enjoy.
- 1 cup plain oatmeal
- 1/2 cup of fresh papaya chunks
- 1 or 2 tablespoons grated coconut unsweetened
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Heat water and add to the oats.
